  • Learning languages makes me depressed. What should I do?

Okay, so I'm currently in my first year of college learning German (continuing it on from secondary/high school) and Spanish (completely from scratch, however everyone in my class is new to it too). I really want to learn languages and find them interesting. I really would love to be fluent at the end of the day, but every time I go to sit down and learn new vocabulary, I often find myself becoming incredibly depressed from learning it and I can't concentrate due to this. I don't really know what to do about it anymore. Any ideas?

  • How do you quote a book in plural form?

How do you quote something but in plural form?

For example, let's just say somebody said 'what?' and then you wanted to say, 'several more 'what?'s rang around the room. Like, does that make sense or what do you say?

    Thanks

  • Is finding a job with languages hard or easy?

Hi, after school I was thinking of doing german and spanish in college in a joint four year course. I like languages a lot and thought this course sounded awesome. But now I'm thinking, what job could I actually get with languages? The course doesn't include business or law or anything else. Would I be able to find a job afterward, and how hard would it be? Sorry, don't really know where else to ask. Thanks.

  • Accent Viewer gone when holding done letters? (Mac)?

Okay, so, for some reason now, when I hold down letters on my mac, I don't get the choice to put umlauts, fadas, etc. on the letters for when I'm typing in different languages. I haven't even gone near settings so I'm confused why this has happened. Any help? Thanks.

  • I think I fractured my thumb?

Hi, my friends and I were messing yesterday and one of my friends fell on my thumb. I don't know what way she landed on it, because it hurt like hell.

I can only bend it slightly, it is swollen, slightly bruised, and it hurts when putting any sort of pressure on it. Is it fractured? The pain, the bruise and swelling is in the lower part of my thumb at the knuckle.

Other ways to say 'he looked' or 'she looked'? I'm writing a story, and I don't like having to replicate this over and over again..

  • Whats South Carolina like?

Hi, so basically I was bored and started writing a book. Some of it takes place in America and I decided South Carolina. But I've never actually been to South Carolina. What's the weather like? Does it rain much? How warm/cold is it in the winter/summer. Is it usually sunny or cloudy? This may sound stupid but what's it look like? Like, I'm irish, and everywhere you look, theres green. Green moss, trees, grass... Are there much forests? I don't really know how to ask this one, I'm not being racist, is it mainly white people or black people living here, or a half mix of the two or?? Thanks.

  • Apple TV Keeps Disconnecting from iTunes?

Hi. I have an Apple TV (2nd Gen) and for the last while, it keeps disconnecting randomly from iTunes. I would be listening to a song or watching something and it would stop and go back to the menu, just showing the apple tv logo instead of featured songs or shows or movies. Usually I then would have to close and reopen itunes then but sometimes I don't have to. I have a MacBook Pro if that makes a difference, and the firewall is set to allow iTunes/Apple Tv to work.

  • Is there a privacy setting to stop my school checking my Facebook?

Hi, my school have a Facebook monitoring program where they can check our facebooks to see if we say anything about students/teachers etc. and we can get in trouble for what we post then in school. I have nothing to hide to be honest, but I don't like the idea of my school checking my Facebook. Its weird. Is there a privacy setting on Facebook to stop it?

  • I'm 15, going Gray already?

Hi, since about 13, I've been getting a load of gray hair. I can't exactly say I'm a stressful person because I don't get stressed a lot, especially in the last year I barely ever have. I was wondering was it because I have a shade of light brown hair but I didn't think that was why... Any help?

  • Schengen Area? Could Someone Explain Please?

Okay so I was looking up random stuff on wikipedia and I cam across the Article "The Schengen Area" and I'm a bit confused. Could someone explain what it is. I was thinking it meant all countries involved didn't need passports when travelling between Schengen Area countries but I wasn't sure if that was right? :|

Heres the link if anyone wants to look at it.

  • Im probably going to move to the Gold Coast in Australia after school? Is it nice?

Okay, I'm from Ireland and I was thinking about heading for the Gold Coast in Australia when i finish up school and I just wanted to get feedback from actual australians on a few things.

I know their has been a LOT of irish people emigrating to Australia in the last few years because of the recession and I wanted to know (be honest, i won't mind) are you sick of them? Are you annoyed their coming in and taking jobs or are you okay about it?

Out of all the places to live in Australia, is the Gold Coast area the nicest or is there better?

Do you love living there or are you thinking about moving because its only okay?

    thanks! :D
