Is there a privacy setting to stop my school checking my Facebook?
Hi, my school have a Facebook monitoring program where they can check our facebooks to see if we say anything about students/teachers etc. and we can get in trouble for what we post then in school. I have nothing to hide to be honest, but I don't like the idea of my school checking my Facebook. Its weird. Is there a privacy setting on Facebook to stop it?
No, it's not during school. Facebook is blocked in our schools.
@mel bahaha. i have a twitter. But for communication, Facebook is easier.
My page is on friends only but I don't think it matters if it does. Well that's the way it sounded when our teachers said it to us.

you can set your posts to be visible to 'friends only' - which everyone should do.
glad you aren't slagging people off. as they say; if you wouldn't say it in person, don't say it online.

Appeal that. School systems have no business monitoring your online activity and have no right to punish you for that activity if they don't like it. If you just restrict who can see your profile to friends, then that takes care of most of the issues, but your school actually monitoring your Facebook activity is a huge breach of privacy; schools are there for learning and teaching, not for monitoring and punishing your social network activity.

Unfortunately there isn't,Even if there was,I'm pretty sure they can override that setting.
I agree with you,I wouldn't like school checking my Facebook ether just to see what I post,or anything like that..

You're posting on Facebook while you're in school? Surely you can restrain yourself until you get home. If you do that, and keep your wall private, nobody can see anything. I think they're entitled to know what your doing on their own computers, on their premises.
