Are there any South Africans on line in this forum today?

Congratulations for getting your hands back on the ICC mace.

Do you think that South Africa will play more Test Matches now on order to try and retain possession of the mace, or do you think that teams ranked between 2 and 5 will keep beating each other regularly enough for the Protea's to keep it anyway?

Any predictions for the forth coming ODI series and T20 World Cup?

And finally what are your thoughts on the match?

I don't suppose anyone is around, but I do have a user from South Africa, who answers occasionally, is a cricket fan, added in my contact list.

South Africa has been the 'second best' for rather too long. First the Aussies dominated, then India with their heavy batting, defended against them at home and away, and it was England who uncrowned England. I don't understand SA's performance, it's indifferent at home and away, for eg: it was 1-1 both at home and away against India. But many congratulations to them, and I suppose it would be hard to uncrown them for some years to come, as their batting and bowling is well balanced.

As of the match, a thrilling. The pitch was a sporting one, had something for everyone, spinner, fast bowlers. I didn't watch it, but had been keeping up with the score on the net or just switching on the TV now and then. Yesterday, could only watch when 110 where needed off 30 overs with 3 wickets in hand, not the easiest of all, but at one stage it looked like an England win with Swann and Prior bashing. I knew, all was up as soon as Prior got out, though I couldn't watch it, cause I went to drop my elder brother at the railway station, and as I was back, Anderson was tryng to block. But I knew, he wouldn't last long, with the mighty bowling line up of SA, Steyn, Morkel and Philander. As was expected, 2 in 2 by Philander and all was up. But a great match.

As of the T20 WC, it's supposed to be India's best opportunity, but again they are not as good a T20 team as in ODI. Pakistan and Sri Lanka hold their chances for the cup, with B'desh may be the surprise performer, and Australia and England may find the going hard.

Congratulations to them and they deserve all the accolades. England self destructed on the back of Pietersen's shenanigans. Lets not take anything away from SA's effort as they have worked hard to get to number 1. Now the real hard work starts trying to hold on to number 1 ranking.

Haven't seen two old Saffas users Johno and Petunia for a long time here. Kazim is the only regular SA supporter nowadays.

Impressive display by the Saffas. It will be an interesting series in Australia this summer.

to be honest i cant see them keeping it long India's on the up and Auss ,im truly happy for them they need this as theyv not won any thing of significance until now ,and i feel sorry for England but its a title that will change from year to year i think India will win it next time round

Source(s): and thoughts of the match ... England fought all the way and it was close and now iv got a great respect for england's fight makes me feel bad that why didnt India fight like that in England a year ago they just gave up , but as Strauss says you have to play even beter when your number one we've all learned lessons in modern day test cricket and i feel like crying lol

South Africa exposed the falsehood and fraudulence of our English tams's number 1 raking mercilessly.
