HELP! FIRST DAY OF 8TH GRADE!?
Well, today was my first day of 8th grade, the teachers were pretty good but it's the people in my class that bug me. There is no one in all 7 classes that I'm friends with. I literally have no friends. All my friends are in a diff. class and it's horrible! I can't just sit there for 45 minutes with no one to talk to.. Should I ask for a schedule change? I've had some of my friends do that before - and I can't just make friends with the people in my class, they're a lot more popular and most of them are guys.

No. Don't do that. You would most likely regret that decision if you found out that your friends made new friends, and decided to ditch you in the middle of the school year. Trust me you will make friends. I remember when I moved in the middle of the 7th grade, and came back in the 8th grade. I thought people would forget about me, but they didn't. They still remembered me, and I met new people and became friends with them. Although they were only a few that remembered, and were almost in different classes. I still made friends, and I was shy too. Being in a room full of popular people can be overwhelming if your not popular. I had that happen to me in the 9th grade, mostly everybody got invited to this party, and I didn't because that person didn't know me or I wasn't popular or didn't dress to impress. It sucked honestly, but then I didn't care anymore. Trust me you will make friends. Don't change your schedule just because your friends aren't in the same class that's stupid actually. Don't dare think about doing that in High school the kids will laugh at you(Juniors or Seniors will.) I seen it happen to this one kid.
Source(s): Me. 16. Upcoming Junior. Hell yeah. I hated the 8th grade though. I had like two enemies always trying to bring up embarrassing stuff about me. Lucky I made a best friend my 8th grade year, and later another. So don't worry about it. Friends will come too you. If they don't talk to you, you talk to them! - 9 years ago
No, stay where you are, this is good training for life. Say hi to all and ask them how they are doing. You'll be shocked how popular you can become. Stay close with your old friends and make new ones too. Now, I could understand changing your lunch hour but not your program.
Good luck!

You will make friends with them honest! As the year goes on you will and then you will look back and think whAt an idiot I was... Don't get a schedule change, only do that if you are getting bullied or if you are getting really depressed about your situation... ;) xxx
