Which is bigger? A Raccoon or Possum?

Last night I saw a huge black furry creature that was bigger than a fat cat

on my window sill. No way he got up by climbing the grapevines because

the strings that hold the vines up are very thin and I doubt it would have

supported his weight without it snapping and him crashing to the ground.

Confused because there was no mask around the eye area like most

raccons have. Is there such a thing as a solid black raccoon because

this thing was huge. But solid black with a pointy snout. Never seen

such a thing like that in my neighborhood in Astoria. Anybody know

what else it could be?

Update:

ahahaha Thank you Doktor Evil. Yes, clearly

it surely must have been :)= I will check the grounds

tomorrow and see if I can identify any imp tracks

in the surrounding area and that should give a clue.

There were some children and others in the neighboring

yard I heard shouting "There he is..." So I know they saw

it too but haven't seen them yet but also a long time neighbor

who passed not too long ago whose house was recently sold.

Maybe the creature's secret home was upturned in the shuffle

and hmmmm... Thanks guys.

racoons are bigger, and possums have a long skinny tail like a rat, not big and furry like a cat or racoon, hope that helps

    A raccoon is bigger.

Clearly what you saw was an Imp out hunting for fresh souls.

the coons here in Florida seem to be quite a bit bigger than the possums, and the possum is a light color
