What will Linux be like in 20 years time?

Linux has been around for just over 20 years and has come an awful long way in that time.

How do you envision Linux progressing in the next 20 years?

What will have changed - for better or for worse?

I don't foresee Linux going through drastic changes all the time like Microsoft Windows does. Linux does what it is suppose to do and does it very well. I am not the least bit thrilled about them pushing the KDE Desktop environment, so as much as I can I avoid these distributions. When they incorporated Unity, it was even ready to be used as main stream, it was a developers Linux with bugs and issues that needed to be ironed out, so this is another type of Linux I avoid. It is really hard to say who is going to get it right.

You need to have the ability to travel in time to figure that out. Nobody knows what the future holds. Technology changes every second. Who knows what they'll think about next.

Hopefully, there won't be any 32-bit computers left in general use.

You can't really predict the technological future. All our predictions will look zeerust-y in 2032.

Windows will still be CRAP and ubuntu, fedora, and mandriva linux will be talking to each other because they're robots. Lol.
