Fox business reports are usually pretty accurate, but a good idea is to check their references and decide for yourself. Municipal bonds in California (several cities declared bankruptcy, several more considering it) and Illinois would seem especially risky. Any state or municipality whose budget is running in the red would be a dangerous investment.
