What happens if you don't seed torrents?
I originally used to always seed whatever I download. Like if i downloaded a big file, i'd leave the program running for the whole day on the computer to get a ratio of 1 or over. But now i don't seed because people tell me the more i seed the more chances i have of getting caught. But if i don't seed could i get banned. ( i use kickasstorrents). I don't want to get caught downloading those files. What should I do?

If you don't seed, download speeds for other people will go down. If you're on a private tracker, it may get you banned.
If you are concerned with privacy and anonymity, get PeerBlock and TorrentRover. PeerBlock blocks traffic to potentially unwanted ip addresses (government, movie/music industry). TorrentRover has an option (Preferences/Other tab/Anonymouse) to run all searches and downloads through a proxy server to protect your privacy during the search and torrent file download process. Just set the option to "Forced" and you'll be good. TorrentRover is a pretty nice app anyways. I use it everyday.

you would be the biggest as$hollow the completed has ever seen and specific blacklisted from trackers and each little thing else is you probably did this adequate. till there are critically extra seeders than leechers or there is like 1k extra seeders than leechers that is incorrect to no seed once you're achieved downloading. I consistently provide a minimum of 30 to 50% back to the community. in case you do no longer its like stealing. For actual! in many cases I acquire some thing interior the 50 GB length and with a constrained 20 up velocity its basically no longer functional to seed back a hundred% of what i've got taken, so i choose for the minimum30% and optimistically help some people. in case you do no longer seed in any respect then if everybody did this there there may be no longer something left to acquire. additionally in case you are the only client with an entire or close to end record left for a torrent that is barely straightforward courtesy to seed till a minimum of yet another leecher can get an entire or close to end reproduction on your record and alter right into a seeder to help everybody else attempting to get that record. or you're an entire as$hollow to the torrent community.

After the download is finished, it will start seeding. Seeding helps others who want to download the same file. So if you seed for a day, it will help others download the file faster. It may sound like a stupid thing for you to do but people seed the torrents that you download, so you should seed for others. For example, a 700mb movie could take a day for you to download, but by seeding, it could help others download it in a couple hours. Nothing happens if you don't seed torrents and it doesn't affect the file at all, it just helps others who are trying to download the same torrent.

If everybody stopped seeding, you wouldn't have anything to download. It's on the honor system if you are on a public or semi-public tracker. Private trackers simply kick you out.
If you don't want to get caught, stop downloading torrents. It's as simple as that. Most of the focus is on movies, music and the publisher of the Dummies books. According to Torrent Freak, copied apps have also come under fire.

If you're a member of a torrent website and download your torrent files from there, you should seed undoubtedly because if you don't, your ratio will drop and you'll get kicked off the website. But if you get it from a website that you are not a member of, nothing will happen if you don't seed.
Hope it helps.

Nothing much important or necessary about seeding.
Just simply your downloading finishes close the torrent there is no need to get into seeding.
