How do you feel about Boston Market removing salt shakers off their tables?
They don't have any Boston Markets where i live, but i seen on the news they where taking the salt shakers off their tables for health reasons, and so you can enjoy the food without extra seasoning. If you want salt you have to ask for it.What do you think of that, and should other restaurants do the same?

It is a very good idea. There are many people who eat out who have high blood pressure. They don't always eat right. Taking the extra salt out of their hands is a way of helping them not to over do it on the salt. Boston Market is just making their restaurant a more healthy place to eat. I hope other restaurants follow in this direction.

Since I do not have high blood pressure, kidney failure, or congestive heart disease, I have no reason to restrict my sodium intake. This is true of most people I would think. For the record, salt does not precipitate illness. Not using salt will not protect any one from the development of any of the listed conditions. So what is the problem with Boston Market? Since I paid my money for the food, who are they to determine how I will consume it? If I choose to drown it in hot sauce, pepper, salt, sesame seeds, or caviar it is none of their concern. I do not have to buy their food. Let's repeat that. I do not have to buy their food.

I go to restaurants to eat their food, not to be required to ask mommy for a salt shaker.

I always taste my food before seasoning, and it's usually more pepper than salt. I'm 47.

It is a smart idea. Usually the products they sell are all ready very high in sodium content. Adding more is not healthy at all

That's going overboard. Restaurants should offer chocolate cake or coffee or martinis or pop or anything that isn't healthy.
