Can anyone tell me how to make a pie crust from Jiffy Baking Mix?
I have the large box, NOT the pie crust mix. The directions are not on the box, and when I try googling it, I get "prepared as stated on package of pie crust mix".
Please don't tell me to make a real pie crust, because I don't have real butter.
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes8 years agoHow would I add strawberries to brownies?
The strawberries are frozen (I bought them fresh), and the mix is Ghirardelli- (add 1/4 c water, 1/3 c veg oil & an egg).
3 AnswersCooking & Recipes9 years agoWhat would be a good side dish with "chicken and avocado egg rolls"?
I'm making them with cabbage, bamboo shoots, red pepper, green onion, etc. What would be a good side?
Also what would be a better dipping sauce- sweet & sour or a taco/salsa?
3 AnswersCooking & Recipes9 years agoWhat resources do YOU use to find a server (waitress) job?
I'm south of Chicago, IL USA. I've been checking Craigslist every day, used hCareers, nothing. I also did 21 walk-ins in 3 days.

4 AnswersCooking & Recipes9 years agoWhat can I use to cover a tattoo for work?
It's a small red rose on the back of my neck. Uniform shirt won't cover it. Not a bandage.
For all you haters out there, I've had it for 27 years in the same industry and have NEVER been asked to cover it. I need the job, and the tat is a deal breaker.
6 AnswersTattoos9 years agoDo you think tattoos are becoming more mainstream in the hospitality industry?
I recently started a job at a Doubletree (branch of Hilton) and noticed a girl that had tattoos down to her wrists. I asked her if she got the tats before or after she was hired. She said "after, but I'm supposed to keep them covered". Her sleeves were rolled up- I saw them. No one said a word. I also worked with a guy last weekend that had "gangsta" tats up & down his arms, including letters on his fingers. He was a SERVER, not a bus or runner. We also went to Office Max & the cashier was a young, cute girl with tats on the insides of both wrists (wearing short sleeves).
So do you think people are being hired more on ability, availability & personality rather than appearance and ink?
1 AnswerOther - US Dining Out9 years agoHow should I cook these split chicken breasts WITHOUT TURNING THE OVEN ON? And I don't have a grill?
They are HUGE Perdue bone-in, skin on. I tried searching for recipes, and only got boneless, skinless.
14 AnswersCooking & Recipes9 years agoHow should I cook these split chicken breasts WITHOUT TURNING THE OVEN ON? And I don't have a grill.?
They are HUGE Perdue bone-in, skin on. I'm in Chicago, IL USA and it's already 70 degrees out- I don't want my AC competing with the oven.

2 AnswersWords & Wordplay9 years agoCan I prep potatoes now for mashed potatoes later?
I have the rest of dinner in the crock pot, and would like to be able to walk in the door & turn the potatoes on.
Is it safe to do that, if I leave them in water on top of the stove? Will they oxidize?
I'm talking about roughly 4 hours of them sitting.

It is a very matte paint over wallpaper. I tried bleach & that did not work.

4 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment9 years agoHow would I freeze these peppers?
I want to make stuffed baby peppers. Would I freeze them before or after baking them? These are the ingredients:
3 ounces thinly sliced pancetta, chopped into 1/4-inch pieces
1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
3/4 cup ricotta cheese
1/3 cup grated Parmesan
1/2 cup frozen petite peas, thawed
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
24 (2 to 3-inch long) sweet baby peppers

3 AnswersCooking & Recipes9 years agoServers: Does this seem like a lot to you (tip out)?
I just started a new job at a nice Italian place. I've trained twice with a guy named Carl. He told me the tip out is 6% of sales, period. When we worked, he was alone with three busboys. They were amazing: served his food, wrapped his food, stayed on top of everything. The bartender was the owner, whe also SERVED drinks when Carl was busy (pretty cool, right?)
I overheard him tell a girl last night that he rang $600 in sales.
Assuming he got 18%, that is $108 in tips, right?
And if he tips out 6% of sales, that's $36
which means he walks with $72.
Does that sound right to you? Basically he's tipping bus, bar & expo.

Every time someone makes a play in wwf, I get a notification "Kevin sent you a request in Words with Friends". Not necessary. I'm sitting right here, playing the game! Its very annoying- how do I stop it?
