How long does a background check take?

A day? a week? a month? The job is serving at a country club.

Update:

I only listed 2 addresses- both in same town. 10 years and 3 years.

    Depends on how many states you have lived in. The less addresses, the quicker the check goes.

    Different departments have different track records.

    When I did one, it took the police about a week to mail the results to me. For other departments it might be longer, and if it goes through the employer first, it could be even longer.
