Where can I buy fresh handmade tortillas in the city?

There has to be a place that sells daily FRESH handmade flour tortillas... not looking for tortillas that have been sitting in a plastic bag for many weeks. Is there a Mexican/Latino Bakery near downtown that sells them?I live in the tenderloin so the closer to downtown the better. Please let me know if you know a place!

Taco's just dont taste good with the tortillas from safeway... lol

There's probably somewhere in the Mission.

But I agree with the above poster... just make your own. Masa harina (corn flour treated with lime - available at any store in SF) and hot water. Flatten the mixture into tortillas, cook for about 20-30 seconds each. It's REALLY easy and quick. For tacos, corn would make more sense.

Flour tortillas are a bit more difficult, but still easy. All-purpose flour, and pretty much the same process but with baking powder, salt, and shortening (I use vegetable, but lard works, obviously).

Try most of Texas. Plenty of that here and then some.
