Why am i getting toned as im bulking?

I am 20 , male 5'10 and 168 pound's, I've been bulking for the past six month's going to to the gym 5 day's a week eating 3000 calorie's a day of healthy protein filled food's and i've noticed the weirdest thing is happeneing, I have gained 23 pound's because i was at 145 when i started lifting again. But i'm also ten time's more toned, I'm not complaining at all of course toned is good, But aren't you supposed to get toned after you do your cut? and lose tone when your bulking? I'm just wondering when i start my cut after i hit 205 pound's am i gonna be ripped as hell cause im still toning as im gaining weight? lol

    probably genetics or your doing more than 8 reps on each set
