How to stop a Maple tree from producing keys?
A have a maple tree that sheds keys from late Spring to late Fall.
I would cut it down but it is half on my property and half on the city's property.
The city refuses to have it chopped down.
Is there something that can be fed to the tree and prevent it from producing keys
8 months out of 12. My yard/ driveway and vehicle are most always full of keys and
I would like to put an end to this without killing the tree.
Any tree doctors out there that know if this is possible or not?

You can't stop it. You just have to keep sweeping them away.

I don't think anyone can prevent a tree from producing seeds, it's just all part of the natural cycle of a living plant.

How humorous; i've got on no account heard the winged seedpods talked approximately as "keys" earlier, even nonetheless this is lovable. :) it rather is style of off-subject be counted, yet right this is what I *have* heard them talked approximately as: helicopters, whirligigs and -- my very own fave -- pollinoses! (or polynoses, extremely some spellings). curiously basically individuals from the state of enormous apple call them that. I discovered it from my dad. As for the real horticultural/botanical call of the seedpods, they're talked approximately as samaras. :)
