Could the Bulldogs be guilty of thowing the Canberra game?

There was a massive amount of money placed on Canberra thru the week, and the Dogs did not look a shadow of what they have the past 13 weeks since they last lost a game, taking nothing away from Canberra, but the Bulldogs did not look like they came to play seriously last nite, and if I remember they or 1 of their players were embroiled in a gambling scandal a couple of years back. What do you think ?

Update:

EDIT : yes I agree Bill, gambling should be left to horse and dog racing , but unfortunatly NRl is a big ticket sport for the TAB or Sportsbet whatever they call it now. And every channel nine game seems to feature someone from Sportsbet telling us what odds we can get and the ins and outs of gambling on the NRL, whats going on there ? don't get me wrong i am not a wowser and enjoy a flutter myself , but gambling leads to corruption in racing so why would NRL be any differant ?

There were rumours going around that the Bulldogs were resting players hence all the money being bet on the Raiders.

I'm not surprised we were beaten. The Raiders have been playing well lately whereas the Dogs have been very average the last couple of weeks.

It was the loss we needed to have™.

Basically anyone with any sense about footy would not have bet on the Bulldogs for that game, even before the announcment of players being rested. While I thought the Bulldogs would win there was no way anyone with half a brain about betting and who did bet would not have backed Canberra with whatever start they had. As far as throwing the game away, that is absolute bullshit. Any betting scandal would not involve the result of a match, it would only involve exotic betting, and then only specific exotic bets unless the whole team was in on it, and there is no way that whole team would be on in a scandal. Some players are too smart for that sort of thing.

They had announced players were being rested and as well leading the comp playing Canberra, they probably thought theonly had to turn up. Hate the gambling aspect. leave the bets to the dogs, trots and gallops.
