How to delete thousands of text messages? HTC desire?

Ive never deleted any text messages from my phone. Now I have over 13000 and my phone is slowing down. I can only delete 20 at a time without GO SMS shutting down or my phone freezing. The same thing happened when I was using handcent sms. Is there a way I can delete all of these messages without having to sit here for hours?

My friend had the same problem and after deleting around 500 manually and numerous phone freezes the only option he had was to save all contacts and a list of the apps he had installed and he did a hard reset that will put your phone back to factory but it will be the only way we got all the messages out of his phone because like yours his was freezing every time we tried deleting too many messages at once.

You cannot retrieve deleted messages without a court order, unfortunately. They won't give you a court order unless they are investigating a crime and need the messages for that purpose. Even if you're on a family plan they won't -- hell, they won't even let you get your OWN deleted messages. I called my own cell phone company once to find out what number a text was to on MY OWN PHONE one time and they refused to give me the information. Don't torture yourself over deleted text messages you'll never see. Look at it this way -- does it really matter what the texts say or who they were to? The man is "single and looking" on an online dating site, and is messaging other women to meet them. Who cares what he's texting? In my opinion, what you've found is enough. So sorry. Good luck.

Tap on messaging and tap and hold down on a contacts name until a list comes up. Then press 'delete messages.' This way you should be able to delete all the messages, one contact at a time.
