If a random gay person does something bad am i to blame for it even though i live hundreds of miles away?

every time a gay person does something bad like murder for example, there are people who comment that they 'bring down' the whole gay community or make us 'look bad'. or else i'm told that i need to tell the gay community to do such and such so that I can be seen in a positive light.

Why am I responsible for a strangers actions i've never met? am i supposed to dedicate my life to getting to know each and every gay person and make sure they run their life in a certain way? who's going to pay for the TRAVEL costs and the room and board? am i responsible for their actions?

if a random straight person does something is EVERY STRAIGHT person to BLAME? i could have sworn that each persons actions are THEIR responsibility.

FYI all gay people do NOT KNOW each other OR HAVE THE SAME LIFESTYLE or HAVE THE SAME LIVES.

Update:

John R: trying to stop gay marriage IS gay bashing. You think two people born with the homosexual orientation should have a STRAIGHT MARRIAGE? just because YOU ARE STRAIGHT?

why should you get a say in TWO PEOPLE who HAVE TO BE GAY"s lives, when it has NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU. since you're not gay.

Update 2:

Jimbo: since the gay lifestyle your point is not valid. If you're talking about my SEXUAL orientation, IT WASN"T CHOSEN. so saying you don't support my sexual orientation is like saying you don't support left handedness or black skin.

the people WHO HAVE those traits have NOTHING TO DO WITH HAVING THEM. so basically you don't support God and/or Nature because that's who are responsible for creating said traits.

never chose to be gay, (which is a trait) and there's no such thing as a 'gay lifestyle' so what you're saying makes no sense.

Update 3:

Yes, 'disagreeing' with someone having an equal right is bigotry.

I like how you think that racism isn't simply 'disagreeing' but called racism. but disagrreeing with my equal rights is just a 'disagreement'. not bigotry.

Gay people Have to be GAY. it's NOT CHOSEN. Gay marriage entails TWO GAY STRANGERS who are tryingto build a GOOD LIFE Together coming together. HOW this affects you in ANY WAY or is ANY of your business i don't understand.

YOU HAVE to offer us something equal to heterosexual marriage or else it's unconstitutional. since we have no choice but to be gay we have to have something EQUAL and EQUIVALENT. our relationships are JUST VALID as yours are.

Do you think perhaps treating people like second class citizens leads to violence? gay people have been denied full rights for decades yet there have been little to no 'acts of violence' on our end. it's mostly been the people will full rights who become violent when

Yes you are and you must be punished. Just as I am guilty of every attack on a gay any where any time simply because I am a Conservative Christian who believes homosexuality is wrong and I oppose gay marriage.

It makes no difference that I believe you like any one else has the right to work or campaign for what you believe is right and that I believe any sort of "gay bashing" is wrong.

@ Jar Jar, so, disagreeing with you on this issue is gay bashing and I suppose "hate speech"? Wrong. Your's is the kind of attitude that leads to violence, and I'm not just talking about the shooting in DC. I am talking about every political and social topic where one side demonizes the other, but that still doesn't make you or me responsible for someone else's actions.

ADDED: if the last part is to me, I never said anything about racism. As to your other points, You and I will never agree. I only tried to answer your original question. Am I some sort of bigot in your eyes? Probably. Just as you may be in mine. The difference between us I think is that I will not try to shut you up, but rather I would defend your right to work for what you believe. Can you say you would do the same for me?

Guess what? That same truth you have about not being responsible for some random act by another gay person is true for everybody, not just gays. But if some crime is perpetrated against anyone who's gay, then it's anyone who doesn't support the gay lifestyle who's to blame. People with unpopular agendas always use the straw man ideology to foster their point. It isn't fair, but it's the way of the left wing of society in this country.

I think you should tour the country doing "The Behaving Gay" seminars. Good luck.

I'm not sure what this question is babbling about, but in American people are responsible for their own actions. LOL!

Yes... Yes you are guilty and responsibility for their actions. You better start self-loathing.
