Supposedly, Mitt Romney derives income from something called "Carried Interest" and pays virtually no Federal Income Tax on this type of income. What exactly is "Carried Interest" and how would the ordinary citizen avail him or herself of this loophole?

he didn't invent it, those are machinations of the financial industry to stimulate investing and that's why people pay the money for professional people who keep up on all the various little nuances of finances and taxes to avail themselves of every possible, legal means
a loop hole would assume that this means some little quirck that allowed for something to slip through because the loop wasn't tight enough---something for Congress to look at, but then it would probably affect them too and we can't have that!

I just put carried interest into the browser and there it was. Guess you didnt bother to look.
