What can I do, my dog is not eating?

So, I have this older shep chow mix for over ten years, she's getting older. But past few weeks she wont eat anything, she's been throwing up. At first, I thought it was worms but she had worms, then she'd be excessively hungry. Anyway She's getting to be really skinny and I'm really worried now, I wanted to know if there was anything I can do, just before taking the dog to the vet. She'll eat a couple of things, two pieces of hot dog, and then wont bother with the rest. Anyone know what's going on?

Update:

lol chicken broth Well I mean we tried feeding her all sorts of things, Chicken, hot dogs, bacon, at one time she was eating fresh noodles, (not any of that ramen junk) But she'd eat little bits at a time and then just not at all. It might have to be the point to where she needs to go to the vet. As far as bad dog food, we've been really picky about what she eats and try to stay away from those main brands (Purina etc.) Dunno, the dog has been having left over all these we've had her and nothing has happened till now. I'm starting to wonder maybe there might be something stuck inside of her stomach or something. I really hope not.

You may want to consult with a vet, and have him checked on. If you choose not to try and change his food, if he has been eating it a long time he may have just got sick of it. I change my dogs food every 4 to 6 months. This is also very healthy because they get Vitamins from all different kinds of foods. One thing that is known is dogs eat when they are hungry so if your dog doesnt eat at all he is sick and needs a vets attention. If he doesnt eat as much as he usaully does or waits to eat to see if he can get something better he is just sick of his food, or may have allergies to his food. Change his food so eating is more exciting and less boring. I would suggest a natural or holistic dog food like Innova or Blue Buffalo. Stay away from brands like Iams, Pedigree, and Purina. All these brands have corn and contain by-products. Lastly make sure your dog is on a senior dog food, considering how old he is.Good luck! Im sure hes just tierd of the same old food.( The throwing could be caused by table scraps which you shoudnt feed your dog, or something his stomack didnt agree with.)

It is impossible to know without taking her to the vets. It is not going to get better unless properly treated. You don't say if she has been neutered or if she has had a litter. If she has had neither it may be an infection in her womb which can be fatal. If she is drinking excessively it may be kidney problems. The only way to sort it to take her to the vet. Good Luck!
