Is it me or are the vampires on Vampire Diaries pedophiles or what?

Ok, so Damon and the other guy are supposed to be very old vampires right? Why the heck are they hanging around a bunch of high-school students and sleeping with these teens? I don't watch the show, but my nieces do and it just dawned on me that these vampire guys are older than the teens great, great grand parents. Is tv trying to sell us pedophilia?

Actually, your thoughts on the topic have been discussed before when it comes to vampires on TV shows and other media. It got brought up during Buffy and Twilight.

A lot of times people say it's a "safe" way to put these much older guys involved with teenagers, they've got hundreds of years of life experience but they still look like they're 22 so it doesn't feel all that creepy for the viewer. It doesn't look the same as say a 45 year old high school English teacher hooking up with a 17 year old.

So in a way you could say they were selling us pedophilia but you can't really compare it since it is fantasy and you can't completely compare it to the real world. At least those are my thoughts on the topic.

i think your judgement is based on very little facts...

watch the show and then think about what you asked.

    BTW, House MD is better.
