I want a relaxer soo bad?
Okay this isn't like a question more like a statement, I sooo want a relaxer I have overly curly hair and would kill for straight hair. I asked my mum ages ago then she said no, recently she said yes as she knew how much I wanted it and then after meeting up with family who had relaxer she said no AGAIN! But one of my cousins uses relaxer shes fine and happy and a couple of people I know. Im 13 btw

DO NOT DO IT. okay I know your younger and you may not understand, but it is so bad for your hair. anyone who's older and has naturally curly hair and has gotten a relaxer will tell you. i used to want one at your age because everyone had it and I wanted my hair to be super straight like everyone else's. but honestly you can accomplish super straight with a flat iron, believe me i do. the better you get at it, the straighter your hair will turn out.
but basically a relaxer puts chemicals into your hair that 'kills' in a sense all the elasticity in your hair (your curls). if you scratch your head, it hurts like hell (chemicals on the scalp) and you'll have to keep getting it so often, and you won't have curls again. plus honestly that "relaxed look" Is overrated now. I live in the DMV (dc Maryland and virginia) and a Lightskin, curly hair female us perfect. believe me I live the stereotype since im Lightskin with curly hair.
I suffer from damaged hair meaning my hair won't curl any longer and just kind of lays flat at the ends, and I don't want your whole head to be like that since your hair is beautiful.
