Why wont the soap door open on my dishwasher?

Its a fridgidaire..the flap door where you put the soap in wont open on its own anymore...what could cause this

    dip a toothbrush in vinegar and CLEAN all around the flap, spring, catch, etc.

    Soap may be caked around it. Boil a kettle of water and pour around soap door,

    dried soap around the door and latch is usually the culprit. give it a real good cleaning.

    The wax motor that opens it could be broken, it is a common thing.
