Sony international warranty?

Hi!

My question is: My aunt (permanent US resident) wants to buy a Sony laptop from the US Sony site. Then she will give it to me as a gift. I live in Romania, have no permanent US residence. I have read that if you register your product, you automatically have international warranty.

Can I register a product purchased in the US in MY name even if I do not have a permanent US residence? If yes, will I be able to benefit from international warranty service in Romania?

If I cannot register the laptop using my name, because I am not the one purchasing it, and I do not have a permanent US adress, can my aunt register it, give it to me, and then go back to the US, and if something happens with the laptop can I be the one who takes the laptop to repair here in Romania?
