Peanut allergy question?

If I'm allergic to all peanuts would I be allergic to a body scrub that says it has natural almond extract in it? Would using it cause me to break out?

Update:

I am allergic to almonds. I'm allergic to all peanuts and almonds which are considered tree nuts. You can be allergic to just nuts in the peanut family or just tree nuts (walnuts, almonts, hazelnuts, etc) I don't realy wanna do a patch test because I don't want to risk it. I'm severly allergic to them. I wanted to know before I ended up in the hospital.

Almonds and peanuts are two entirely different products. Is it all nuts or just peanuts? Sample test a patch on your skin and wait for a reaction. No reaction means it is safe to proceed.

A peanut allergy reaction causes various degrees of inflammation, itching and indigestion. Inflammation, or swelling, is the greatest concern as it can lead to blockage of the air passages and circulatory collapse, i.e. anaphylaxis. A peanut allergy reaction can be immediate (within seconds) or delayed for several hours. Susceptible individuals can be affected by only a few milligrams of peanut protein. For reasons that are unknown, a peanut-allergic person produces massive amounts of histamines as soon as the body starts to digest the ingested nuts. In severe cases, treatment must be administered at once to prevent a fatality. Some extremely sensitive people may have a reaction from simply inhaling trace amounts of peanut.

If you were allergic to all nuts, like myself, and you used that you could potentially break out. It depends on the severity of your allergy. But yes, it could produce a rash. And worse, if you got it in your eyes you could have an anaphylactic shock.

If you are allergic to only peanuts then almonds shouldn't bother you, though other nuts can come in contact with one another on the processing line. When in doubt, avoid the nut!

    Be careful.
