Question about suffering?

I am on disability for 9 yrs now. Little income. And a single mother of a teenager. My suffering is due to my own causing. We don't have a lot. Clothes, XBOX, food, a small apartment and a car, some books, furniture, etc. My mom helps me with gas and food. She just bought us a nice coffee table. I could NOT live comfortably with my parents.

Materialism only causes suffering if you rely on it all the time. IF you constantly buy things to make you happy. You are to find happiness in the little things, like coffee with a friend, time with family playing cards, a walk in a park and listening to the birds, etc. MaterialISM means it runs and ruins your life. You will die and can take anything with you but your soul.

Its not life thats unfair, is how you live it being that it was given to you... The people of Israel didn't have any problems until they strayed away from Gods commandments. This happens to be mans on going problem even today.. And yes it shows how society has turned for the worst...It has nothing to do with materiality, or individual suffering.. When The Lord is not in your life, and you make all the decisions nothing seems to be going to work..

John 3:16 reads for God so loved the world that he gave his Only begotten Son, for who believes in him shall not Perish , but have Everlasting Life. The Bible is the oldest Book ever written ,most studied, and most misunderstood, because it is the word of God given to his servants and guides them as to how to get Closer to the All mighty. Sin causes suffering, coming to God gives you relief and Salvation.

So which do you prefer?????

Materialism is not the source of suffering.

Desire to have those things that are not basic needs is the source of suffering.

Those who have nothing are probably suffering from lack of the basic needs - like food.

Sounds similar to what priests used to tell the starving, sick and poor, hundreds of years ago. Just before going back too sit down at a full table with the nobles. You forgot the part about suffering being Gods will.

[1 Peter 4:12-13]

"Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed".

Ive been to alot a places and seen alot of poverty,but not much misery.People with nothing but the clothes on their back but they smiled and seemed to be happy just to be alive

Having stuff or money does not make one suffer being poor does.

Because you need materials to survive.

Yeah, life is just not fair

Because GOD loves them!!
