Any recommendations for a non skier in the Piedmont region?
I have a friend that has a big birthday approaching; she says she wants to, and I quote, "Go to the snow." When I pressed her for specifics, and pointed out that there was snow all over the world, she chose Italy. She's expressed a desire to sit around by the fire and drink hot toddies, and also to watch me learn to ski/snowboard. What other sorts of activities are there for a tourist? Also, what is a good time of year to travel for snow?
Any suggestions you can provide would be great.
Thanks for reading!

There is a wonderful little village in the mountains called Limone ( http://www.my-italy-piedmont-marche-and-more.com/l... )which would be perfect. Anytime from mid-December would be great.
