  • Any recommendations for a non skier in the Piedmont region?

I have a friend that has a big birthday approaching; she says she wants to, and I quote, "Go to the snow." When I pressed her for specifics, and pointed out that there was snow all over the world, she chose Italy. She's expressed a desire to sit around by the fire and drink hot toddies, and also to watch me learn to ski/snowboard. What other sorts of activities are there for a tourist? Also, what is a good time of year to travel for snow?

Any suggestions you can provide would be great.

    Thanks for reading!

  • What is there to do in New Zealand for the First Timer?

We have the opportunity and a good rate to travel there, but none of the folks in my group are that familiar with the country. We love beaches and snorkeling, and like to be as non "touristy" as we can. Thanks!

  • iPod Nano mp4 from China?

My mom purchased an iPod Nano mp4 player from China. iTunes does not recognize the player, and all of the instructions on the player itself are in Chinese character. Is there any way to get this thing to work in conjunction with iTunes, even though it is clearly not a true iPod?

  • What may I bring home?

I am traveling to France in October, and thought I might do a little Christmas shopping while there. Does anyone know what types of items I am forbidden to bring home? For example, could I buy a bottle of wine for someone?
