Christians: why don't you leave America?

America was founded by Atheist principles and is a free country. The holy bible is the most damaging influence in this country and the country is moving towards more Atheist values in the future. Why don't you leave America?

Everyone has the right to worship whomever they please. America wasn't as much founded on atheism as it was on religious freedom and having no specific designated deity. As a matter of fact, not all of the Founding Fathers were Christians. Most were Deists. I do think that atheism is on the rise and that is perfectly fine; however, (as much as I dislike most of what Christians believe and do to others -- er, the fundamentalists I should say, some Christians are excellent people) Christians have just as much of a right to be here as you (for whatever faith or non-faith you are), Muslims, Jews, Pagans of various sorts, Satanists, Wiccans (like myself), etc. do. I will agree with you that the Bible is very damaging, but there is nothing that can be done about that to be honest. We just have to live and let live (but there needs to be a line drawn when it comes to others' rights being taken away because of one specific religious faith -- fundamentalist Christians that is geared towards you and how you are using your Bible to take away the rights of gays, people of other faiths, etc.). As you said, America is a free country. Perhaps we should start acting like it really is?

Oh, and, Titus, what country have you been living in?! America was NEVER founded on Christian beliefs. Look at the Treaty of Tripoli, the Constitution of the United States of America, the Bill of Rights, and many other documents from that time period. We've never been a Christian nation though Christianity is the majority here. We have religious freedom for a reason. Perhaps you should go back to school and learn your history because obviously you haven't learned anything at all. I'm not even going to get into the "in God we trust" crap though I will say that wasn't added until the 1950s and the original author was even appalled by the addition.

so while he says you SOUND like a nazi.... he's admitted to behaving like a nazi !

I plan to when it's time - I was borh here and love America. It doesn't matter where one lives - there will be atheist/unblievers every where.

Check out American's history books - as the other users have said of how America was founded.

As far as what I said about getting out when the time is right - Jesus is soon to come and One Glad Morning When This Life Is Over - I WILL FLY AWAY!!!

No how about let all the bad people leave! You know the country would probably be in ruins if Christians left, why? Because almost 80% of the country is christians! America was founded by Christians in the first place. But your right, we do need to leave because we should help other countries that don't even know about God, Atheist are just the spoiled rotten Americans that rebel against anything their parents wanted good for them, you've already been given the word, and rebeled your just your own down fall.

I am an atheist and I will be standing beside Mark H, helping him resist you if you do come to expel him.

@Mark H. The first two amendments are my favorite ones as well.

I would say that religion should be practiced only in temples for those who like themselves, and should never enter into politics or in public life, nor should create laws based on religious dogma, whether quiseremos off parents are no better than the most religious fanatics.

Puzzling, considering many of the founders were church-goers.

I think I see what you did there.

I have heard this statement many times before...just switching the words christians and atheists.

Hmm...It doesn't make sense either way.

I'm in Canada and I have more knowledge of American history than you do....it is in the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence that America was founded on the principles of CHRISTIANITY.

Um. You must be trolling. America was founded on Christian principles. "We hold these truths to be self evident... that people are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights."

In court houses do people swear to tell the truth with their right hand on Darwin's "on the origin of species"? No. They don't.

disclaimer: I am not a christian. Sort of agnostic
