Getting Dog smell out of my carpet?? Any suggestions?

Hi.My dog ended up having "the runs" for lack of a better term at the moment and when I left for 15 minutes to take my daughters' to school, she ended up having this issue on my carpet in about 5 piles.(and before anyone gives smart a$$ answers,I can not leave her outside while I am gone because someone will surely try to take her,I was hoping she would be alright until I got home because she went out to potty right before we left). I've removed what I could, use soapy water to scrub and blot up as much as I possibly can and I can still smell that smell. Is there any household tricks rather than Vinegar that I could use on the spots to eliminate the smell? I'm looking for a temporary fix until this evening when I can get to the store and get pet stain/odor remover.Just looking for something to temp. fix the smell for a short period of time,or if you have any ideas for long term/permanent that are household remedies that would be fantastic as well. I have put baking soda on my carpets and its been sitting there for about a half hour now,but since I can still smell that smell I was going to leave it on another hour or so to try and "soak up" that smell. Any suggestions would be awesome and greatly appreciated.

Update:

Just wanted to add,my girl is healthy. She got into a plate of Stuffed Peppers last night and is paying for it today. Already called the vet to make sure everything was ok or if she needed to be seen but as soon as he heard what she had eaten last night he was positive that the peppers and tomatoe juice is what is causing the problem, and if it went on for more than a day then she needs to be seen. Hell,I have the same issue when I eat the dern things lol. But yes my dog is healthy as can be,just ate some food that didn't agree with her.thanks for the concern though. And she is drinking plenty of water and is in a cool place so no worries for dehydration=)

    Nice question..

Go to your local janitorial supply store. They have an enzyme that can be mixed with water. You have to soak the carpet through to the pad, and keep it damp for 24 hrs to allow the enzyme to work. Covering the wet area with plastic wrap can work. The enzyme actually eats the waste material. Depending on how bad the urine has soaked the carpet, you may have to pull it up, with the pad, and treat the sub floor to get rid of the odor. I hope this helps.

    Thanks..

This happened to my dog and I am answering your question with a negative response she has a flora disease which one of my boys has and I have two handsome ones at that. The vet is where she has to go and immediately. It cost me an arm and a leg but I love my boys more than people and I would do anything for their health. Now my dog is on prescription dog food for the remainder of his life and it is expensive. I am in Canada perhaps it is not going to be so costly where you live but please for her safety take her to vet she is dehydrating quickly THANKS
