Amplifier Speakers - Resitance/Wattage?

Hi all

I currently have a 4x10 guitar cab that...so far...I've put two 75w 8ohm eminance speakers in but I've run out of money and need it working for gig asap and I'm still 2 speakers short....here's where my tricky stuff starts.

Someone has offered me two used Stageline 100w 4ohm speakers.

I was wondering If I could just wire another 4ohm (high wattage - ceramic) resistor to each 100w speaker? Will this match the resistance of all speakers? AND bring the wattage of the new pair closer to the 75w mark?

Cheers.

Note: Thanks for any advice but I'm okay with the cab wiring, series parallel, stuff. Have done a few times before. Cheers guys!

Update:

@BigAl- Thanks for the answer but I'm curious about matching the wattage value too if you have any ideas mate

Well, let's see. The amp is going to be forgiving so if you put one 8 ohm and 1 4 ohm speaker in series on each port, you would look like 12 ohms and have a 75 and 100 watt speaker on each leg.

if you put the 2 4 ohm speakers in series you would have 8 ohms on the leg with 2 100 watt speakers. You forgot to mention what the output watt rating of the amp is, but you're probably not going to notice the difference between 50 watts and 75 watts. The sound levels may have to be adjusted for balance.

There was a time when a thirty watt per ch at eight ohm amp would have been viewed fairly adequate. Inventory, most cars got here with less. Save on the very high end. If your speakers are regular oval Rear Deck audio system, it usually nonetheless is. It could or else rely on the magnet and coil dimension, and compliance of the audio system, and ordinarily, they are 4 ohm drivers, so 30 watts rms at eight ohms normally outputs 60 watts of control to four ohm audio system. When you've got average oval deck speakers with say, eight ounce magnets on them, getting a whopping large amplifier wont do you any just right. It just manner while you twitch the volume manipulate somewhat to some distance, you are going to turn the cones inside out, and smash them. If your automobile is an ultra quiet veritable concert hall on wheels, a quite steeply-priced rig could, could, be valuable relying in your musical tastes. If you are just drowning out engine knock, maintaining up with the physical games, FM radio, i would not hassle.

I think if you just wire the two add-ins in series the total resistance equals 8 ohms.
