Which NFL defense are the best for fantasy football?

Defenses are overrated, the last 3 years the top scorin defenses went undrafted, & 4 of the last 5 years

whichever free agent defense has the easiest matchup that week. Anybody who drafts a defense before the last round of the draft is just giving up an opportunity to snag a sleeper. I rotate my defense almost weekly depending on matchup. For instance, in the last round of my draft I took the Lions defense. They're pretty weak in the secondary, but they play the Rams week 1. For week 2, I might consider dropping the Lions for the Raiders who play Miami.

I've done 2 yahoo drafts so far, and I didn't even pick up a DEF or K in either draft. Obviously, I have to fix this, but people don't get that this is totally a function of matchup. There's no every week plug in on DEF, including the Niners.

So don't overthink it. If any of them are playing at home vs a weak offense like the Bucs or Rams, etc this might be a good play. But you might not want to use them in the next game.

PS - LOL @ the first guy. You'd start them in GB vs the Pack in Game one? Really? Good luck on that.

I have to agree with messykat on this one. The sf def is great overall but in week 1 their facing the packers which means that their screwed. I would go with cleveland or arizona for week 1.
