How do we get our beardies to grow? And other questions.?
We have 2 bearded dragons that are about 4" we have had then for about 2 months and they haven't grown very much they eat about 15-20 crickets a day we have started giving them fresh veggies. Is there anything specific we can feed them to make them grow faster? Their tank is 42" long and I think 10" deep. Ther can get within about 4" of the heat basking light we also have a uv-b bulb that doesn't giv off as much heat on the other side of the tank. their tank is between 90-100 during the day and 70-80 at night.
Also what veggies do bearded dragons prefer we have tried potatoes and carrots with ours. They don't like the carrots very much but will eat the potato.

gutload your crickets with calcium!!!! Dust them ever other feeding and in their keeper with their cricket food mix some calcium in the cap. (use a pop bottle cap for the food) also put carrots in with the crickets. it helps get rid of parasites the crickets may have.
Squash is a good staple vegetable for a bearded dragon. Choose from acorn squash, butternut, kabocha, yellow, zucchini or spaghetti squash. Peel and discard the seeds and chop the squash into fine pieces.Mushrooms will add phosphorus to a bearded dragon's diet, and asparagus will provide a high amount of protein, which is a good for young bearded dragons. Chop the asparagus into small pieces or shred with a fork. Bell peppers are a favorite among many bearded dragons. Mix small pieces into the dragon's other food if they are not eating well. The strong taste and color may entice them to eat. Sweet potatoes are another enticing food for bearded dragons. Chop these very small and mix into other greens and fruits for a boost of nutrition. Bearded dragons require a lot of calcium in their diet for bone development and to avoid any problems with metabolic bone disease. Chicory, collard, mustard, watercress, turnip greens, spinach, kale and dandelion greens are vegetables containing high levels of calcium. Cut, chop or shred the greens into small pieces. Prepare them ahead of time by storing the dried pieces wrapped in paper towels and placing them in a plastic bag in the refrigerator.Iceberg lettuce should not be fed to a bearded dragon because it contains very little nutrients or taste. Romaine lettuce should also be avoided, as it can cause a bearded dragon to have runny, smelly poop.
