I was going to answer this with a comment of my own but Mommanuk, Rankin and Pete pretty well said most of it anyway. I would only add that my own experience is that most of your neighbors have a diversity in incomes and that is ok. The problem comes when some are so low that they cannot provide for their families no matter how hard they work and that does happen. Maybe not in LaLa Land but in the real world of America.

There is a trick to understanding what Liberals think 'legitimate' diversity is.

Clearly Unequal Wealth is NOT on the list. Nor do diverse opinions on Abortion, Immigration, Gay Marriage, Global Warming or whether Catholics should be forced to buy women birth control... appear to be subject of praise & acceptance.

The key lies in understanding that Liberal leaders are Marxists, in the sense that they preach that FAIRNESS should be defined as Equally Distributed Wealth.

Now since that Wealth keeps migrating into the hands of those pesky Capitalists Entrepreneurs, the 'job' of a Liberal Leader is to REDISTRUBUTE it back into the hands of those it was UNFAIRLY taken from....

How do we know it was 'unfairly' taken? Because even voluntary taking, creates inequality & inequality is DEFINED as 'unfair'.

So essentially Liberal Leaders are elected to rob the Rich, aka Redistribution, 'Spreading the Wealth', collecting a 'fair share' .

Liberal followers are typically 'sheeple' who think emotionally rather than logically. They are by their own definition the 'fair' ones. They have no logical definition of 'diversity' just an emotion one, i.e. 'fairness' to others.

But remember that 'fairness' to a Liberal is distributed wealth. Hence 'Diversity in Wealth' cannot be praised.

Now if you can escape the Liberal meme, the reality is that their 'diversity' is actually just a Marxist quest to find people who think they are ENTITLED to some kind of recompense from the vaguely defended hoarders of Wealth.

So Self Sufficient Middle Class White Christians, or what they believe just doesn't quality. Nor successful Entrepreneurs, nor anyone who doesn't somehow feel victimized by Society.

To a Liberal DIVERSITY is anyone who needs something they cannot afford, or who wants something they aren't being given.

So Wealth isn't on the 'legitimate' Diversity list, because the Wealthy can afford what they want & aren't waiting to be given things.

Diversity of income is fine. As would a more diverse distribution of the wealth. You know, maybe the top 50 Percent could control 70 percent of the wealth? Something more like that.

I'm a liberal and I do "praise" diversity of income among men and women. However, I don't think that there diversity should be as polarized as one person earning $10,000 a year and working tirelessly to feed a family of four while another individual makes about $1,000,000,000 a year and receives most if it from mutual fund investments, for which no work is required.

The diversity you are really speaking of is the Haves and the Have nots. That is a caste system- not diversity. Look up the definition next time-Definition of DIVERSITY

Since conservatives are always praising responsibility and self reliance, why are they willing to let all the uninsured people take advantage of our system and be treated without insurance?

Liberals aren't proposing a single salary for all workers. and they aren't criticizing a diversity of incomes. You are confusing what your choice in media tells you the liberals are "really" like with actual people and events.

I don't praise anyone who takes pride in amassing large amounts of wealth that they cheated away from other people.

They believe that they are being cheated one someone in their immediate surroundings is making more money and has a better title than they do, neverminding the extra effort that the other person needed to put forth (or should have needed to put forth) for their position. But, they are okay with rappers and entertainers making millions of dollars to sell them 3 or 4 minutes of bullshit.
