can they take a persons settlement?
Say a person has a settlement coming to him from a car accident and around the same time a minor child gets a judgement for restitution against him. Can they take his fathers settlement?
This would be in the state of Texas.

Your question is not really clear but if you are asking if the fathers settlement could be taken to satisfy his child's judgment the answer is no unless the father was also ordered to pay restitution. If he was then a lien could be placed on his car accident settlement. Could be different in texas but I don't think so.

Possibly.
But it depends on the facts and circumstances of the "judgment for restitution."

Without knowing more facts about the case, I would say yes, the judgement would come first.

Depends on how the person and the minor are related. You have provided insufficient facts.

Certainly. Or his other assets, or a portion of his income. Or all three.
