The maximum SSI (Supplemental Security Income) benefit is $698 a month. The state of Texas does not supplement this amount. Because SSI is a needs based program any income received by the parents could lower the benefit amount or make the child ineligible altogether. SSI benefits are paid out of general tax revenues.
If you are instead confusing the SSI program with the social security program as so many do, parents income doesn't affect a monthly social security check being paid to a child since social security isn't based upon financial need as is the case with SSI. Under the social s ecurity prgram the child's benefit amount is determined by what the parent paid into the social security system.
