What is the obvious change in America today from the late 1790's?
What is it that we had in abundance in the 1790's that we no longer have? It is what made the American dream possible.

By the way, if I remember correctly, the Boston Tea Party was not about raised taxes, it was a protest of local small-scale tea importers against Parliament's Tea Act, which gave tax breaks to the East India Company multinational corporation.
