Green sunfish or bluegill?

When fishing with a worm and a size 8 hook I hope to catch some decent sized bluegill. However, I always end up catching a tiny fish and I'm not sure if it is a young or small bluegill or a green sunfish. Can you help me distinguish? It is much smaller than my hand and is a greenish color at edges and becomes more white toward the stomache.

    Take a look for yourself...

    This is a bluegill...

    This is a green sunfish...

Now, these two fish DO hybridize, so it's very possible that you're catching bluegill and green sunfish hybrids...

the fairway sunfish and the bluegill are the two especially aggressive species. to maintain them with cichlids mutually with a green terror or oscar, you may choose an exceedingly super tank, so as that each and every fish would have its very own territory and stay out of the different fishes' territory. yet another difficulty is that oscars and green terrors are tropical fishes, so as that they like heat climate 3 hundred and sixty 5 days-around, whilst those 2 sunfishes are temperate species, so as that they require a wintry climate cool era with a view to be in optimal wellbeing. out of your description, your fish sounds extra like a green sunfish, yet without seeing it, i could not say for particular.
