Can I claim EI (Employment Insurance) in following situation?
Hello, I am wondering if I can claim EI. I live in Ontario, Canada. So the EI has to deal with Ontario laws
I been working at one company for about 7 months now, and EI is deducted from my pay-roll. Now I am getting less and less hours of work. And only work 2 days a week sometimes I might have 1-2 more days of work a week, but this is only if other parts of company require some help. The problem with this is that I am barely making anything $400-$500/bi-weekly. And I can't exactly get something else like a 2nd job, since there is no schedule at the current workplace. One day you may work Mon, Tue and next week it might be Tue, Wen or Thu, Fri. Not to mention rare occasions where I get extra day(s) of work. My average works hours bi-weekly are around 48-52h. And I am having problems surviving on $900-$1200 I make a month. I am also having problems getting along with my Supervisor and many times feel like the Supervisor want's me to quit or leave. I had many moments lately where I wanted to grab my items and just go home, it seem now lately for past 1-2 months I been more and more depressed, to the point where I wish I did not have to go to work and see my Supervisor, since I know that in about 1h the Supervisor will start getting pissed off at me for no clear reason, not to mention I don't get explanation. I just start getting treated like *****, while others aren't. I try to work as fast and as efficiently as I can. But even so that ain't helping, I am still treated like ***** which causes me to go truth the entire work day depressed as hell wishing I was not there, but other as said before can work much slower on the same thing I used to do and take up more time to finish it, and yet they aren't being written to the boss. But I am. I really wonder what gives.
The Supervisor makes multiple complains to the boss, and never tells me what I done wrong but instead writes me off to the boss. The boss is not a bad guy and talked to me few times about the Supervisor complains, but from one talk where the boss and Supervisor where both talking to me I got the idea if I even ask my boss to move me to a different division in the company that ain't going to happen. That's what the Supervisor said as well. In the end I am not sure what to do. Since I have only few choices, continue this disregarding the behavior of the Supervisor, which will probably end-up me getting fired as the Supervisor will continue to write me off to the boss, or leave. Since there is no option that allows me to move to a different division and stop seeing or working with the Supervisor.
What would my options be in such case and would I even be able to claim EI.

I'm not positive about the unemployment laws in Ontario, but I do know that here in America, you can not file for unemployment if you were fired or quit. People go around in circles trying to figure out which of the two, fired or quit, would get the insurance, but neither will ~ in any scenario.
Unemployment can be filed in the first case you mentioned ~ when you have a job, but they can't give you enough hours; seasonal jobs are notorious for that. Generally, unemployment will pay for up to forty hours weekly that you couldn't work, and one simply has to file the claim and submit the claim sheet every two weeks. They keep an open claim for you as long as you have benefits coming.
The rule is: if you and your employer agree that you are working for them but they can not give you enough hours (especially in the case of a lay off), then you are eligible for unemployment insurance.
Don't quit and file unemployment; they will tell you "no".
