My Papillon hasn't eaten or poo'ed in 5 days and is Lethargic and there are no vets open!?

I am really scared for my dog. He hasn't eaten in five days or poo'ed. The first three days he threw up quite a bit. He is still drinking water, but he's lost weight and is shaking and very weak. The vets aren't open here because it's a long holiday weekend. Please I need help fast! I think he may be blocked up from foliage he was eating. His tummy feels firm. What can I do?

    CALL THE EMERGENCY VETS ASAP!

but in the mean time try to get him to eat a bit of wet food for nutrition but dont force him to much.

maby sneak some extra nutrients in his food/drink maybe milk as a one of if he wont eat or he will di of starvation!

also when this happened to one of my pets the vet recomended we massaged her stomach to encorage her to poo and stuff. she also gave us liquid food and painkiller to seringe down her every 2 hours or something like that. and we also did this with pine apple juice to soffen the poo inside her(yuck i know) and i stayed with her 24/7 to make sure she was ok..........................................

................................................ but sadily dispite all my eferts she still *sob* went to animal heven :'(

Why is it suddenly an emergency? He probably has an intestinal blockage. There is nothing for you to do. It's odd that you live in an area with no emergency veterinary services. My veterinarian does emergencies and I have two emergency hospitals, fifty and sixty five miles away. If you don't think the dog will survive the night, then you need to do a bigger search for emergency care. I'd start with listening to your vet's after-hours phone message.

you need to find a emergency vet

good chance this dog may not make it

if any animal is this sick and isn't any better within 24 hours should be seen by a vet and at this time they would have been open

waiting now may be a death sentence unless you find a emergency vet

FIVE days? Are you completely delusional? Or is this a joke?

The dog is dying and I highly doubt it will live much longer. There are 24/7 emergency vets and I suggest you get your witless butt off the computer and find the nearest one NOW.

There is absolutely NO excuse for this.

Your severe-high quality wager is to take him to your favourite veterinarian, the rotten area isn't quite as imoportant as that easy incontrovertible fact that it may be caught is his throat and he won't be getting sufficient air. yet whilst it became into rotten then he is going to have a heck of a tummy soreness later, and if he's no longer ingesting water than he is going to come again to be dehydrated or could desire to already be that way. it incredibly is clean regardless of should not be purely precise in his physique and likewise you will could desire to call and make an appointment including your vet.

Call your regular vet and listen to their voice mail. All vets have instructions for what to do if there are off-hours emergencies. You should have called on day TWO when the vets were still open. With any luck they can still save your dog. Shame on you for allowing her to suffer needlessly for five whole days.

If your dog has a blockage it can be fatal your dog is very sick and i would call every vet in a 100 mile radius and see which ones have an emergency service.

Have you tried your own vet to see if they have an emergency service as your dog is really sick and needs a vet now .

Find an emergency vet. This is not something that can be treated at home. Since you have waited so long to seek medical help this is now an emergency.

There are emergency vets open now, and I wouldn't try to wait any longer before taking him in. He could die without prompt attention. This sounds very serious. Please call an emergency vet now and take him in. There isn't anything that you can do at home. He needs X rays and injectable medications and fluids.

Emergency vet ARE OPEN on weekends, holidays and evenings. Your regular vet would have that Information recorded on their answering machine, or their answering service would have it. Why would you allow this to happen for FIVE days?
