What is the real definition of a Christian?
...and are there any more of them? How do you know if you meet one?

A person who has repented, turned control of his life over to Jesus, believes everything the Bible has to say about him, and has been born again with the Spirit of God.
You would have to be one in order to have a glimmer of hope in identifying another. I have found that some people are repelled when they sense the little bit of holiness the Christian has. They begin to be convicted of their sin, and they don't like it. And this is before one word of God is spoken!

There are few true Christians. Jesus taught His disciples how to reach a high spiritual level. He even told them that not all could hear what He was teaching them -- He went on to say that He had more things to tell them but that they were not ready yet. Today most Christians think that religion is about "trying to be good." No. That's not it. Yes, we need to be good, obviously - and if you want to practice religion, you need to practice good moral behaviour. But being morally good isn't the crux of religion. Jesus had reached a very high spiritual level and He came here to show us how to do that. He said, "What I have done, you also shall do." He explained much when He spoke to John (The Book of Revelation) but today few people understand it. They would understand more if they were to compare what He said to the Vedic scriptures of India. But Christians are SO COMPLETELY prejudiced against the religions of India, that they will not do this. And let us remember that Jesus' name was not "Christ," as most people now believe. He was referred to in the past as "Jesus, the Christ." "Christ" is an honorific title, referring to one who has been "anointed," one who has reached the very high level, which He did. He told us that we are "gods," (quoting from the book of Isaiah), meaning that we are capable of far more than we realize. A real Christian is striving to achieve that high level. In the Book of Revelation He spoke of those who "overcome," meaning overcoming the desires and attractions of this world - He went on to say that He, too, had overcome it - meaning that He had once existed at a lower level, which is something NO modern-day Christian will be able to hear because many of them consider that Jesus is "God," even though He never made that claim. So in the Book of Revelation He says that we must overcome this place, we must get past it as He also did (Rev. 3:21), in order to reach the ever higher levels of perception, higher levels of experience. Then and only then can we be of true help to others. Yes, it's fine and good to feed the poor, etc., so let's do that, but let us not get stuck in the illusion that that's the extent of it because it isn't. That high level i speak of was the level reached by the people known as "saints." Saints weren't simply people who were extraordinarily good. They were/are people who had reached a level known to Hindus as "samadhi" or "nirbikalpa samadhi." But since most "Christians" do not and cannot understand or accept this, they remain in the illusion that "being good" is what religion is exclusively all about ...

The true definition of a Christian is someone that is in Christ and Him in them. And these Christians do n0t have sin, have overcome the world and enter into the kingdom of God.
You will know them by their fruits, for they have the Holy Spirit and bear the fruits of righteousness. They are the people preaching the gospel of the water and the Spirit that saves perfectly making those who believe into true Christians without sin, so that they can be in Christ and Him in them, the will of God.

a true christian is someone who believes in the Word that Christ spoke "I am the way, the truth and the life, No one can come unto the Father except through Me." That He stood in the breach for us and bore the wrath of G-d for the sins of all of mankind on Calvary. That He rose on the third day and G-d has exalted above all and now is our High priest who intercedes for us with G-d the father. as of our own we cannot appear in G-ds presence because G-d and we being sinfull people cannot walk together, but must acknowledge that Christ is truly our Lord and saviour.

My understanding is that a Christian is someone who thinks that Jesus of Nazareth was more divine than the rest of us and also is an important factor in the 'salvation' of people.
All Christians I know of share these two characteristics, though they differ on the details.
But I'm not Christian, so I'm hesitant to speak for them.

This one is easy...when you ask a xtian what a xtian is...they will describe someone exactly like themselves. If you question them about other people who say they are "real xtians" then the answer will be "no, they are not real xtians". So the definition of a xtian by another xtian would be....anyone just like them.
My definition is anyone who thinks jesus died for them and had to die for them but then blames us (Jewish people) for killing him (we didn't, the Romans did) and tell us we don't understand our own Tanach that they have to translate it for us and apparently oh right...that the "Jewish changed it after jesus was born because we hated jesus"....it gets absolutely ridiculous. Also, apparently a xtian seems to think they have a direct line to G-d and they speak for him and it is their job to bring as many people as they can to jesus (and of course money to the church) so they constantly try to tell us we are going to hell etc etc. '

There are only 2 requirements to be a True Christian. First you must repent of all your sins and try your best to sin no more, and if you do sin you must be truly sorry you did. Second you must accept Christ as your Savior.

The word "Christian" should be treated like verb. Sure you can say "I'm a Christian" and even "That person is not" , but does one act Christian? That is how I define it.

Someone who follows the message of Jesus Christ - to love the creator and His universe, and to behave towards others humans in the same way you would want them to behave towards you. I do not know how many people are truly behaving as a Christian but, we must all think about it, and try as much as possible to act like it if we want to become one, until then, we are just aspiring to be one.
