What is with all the hockey players?
I used to come on here quite a lot, browsing the questions and things like that. I looked through some of the questions today after not visiting this website for a few months, and was amazed at how many negative answers and questions hockey players were answering and asking about figure skaters. I know that there has always been this sort of friction between them, but why has it suddenly hit Yahoo! Answers? It's really annoying and mean.
Also, we never purposefully attack them and say their sport is stupid and pointless and easy, so why do it to us?

I haven't myself seen too much hate here on yahoo, but it does bother me how some hockey players like to put down figure skating. I think they do it because it makes them feel better about themselves and their sport, not that it isn't a great sport. My brother is a Hockey player and so he's always trying to compare us or say figure skating isn't a sport compared to hockey.

It happens very occasionally. Honestly, this entire question seems designed to try to stir up something which really isn't an issue.

They're probably jealous that what we do requires SKILL...
I think hockey jerks are a classic case of "they doth protest too much". They know that figure skating is way harder than anything they do, but they're big manly men, blah blah blah.

They're being typical cocky jealous people because what we do requires so much more skill and they are simply jealous. It sucks I know :)
