High end local markets often offer cooking classes/demonstrations that are free or very low cost. My community has 2 local markets and a vegetable market that do free demonstrations. There is also a kitchen shop that does low cost classes with guest chefs.

I would start with the restaurants. That way the girls will be exposed to a professional kitchen.
