Okay, Does this thing like pork or does it not?

Jew: "YHWH strictly forbids the consumption of pork."

Christian: "No He doesn't! Jesus and Paul took that law back a little while later."

Muslim: "Yes, He does forbid it, the Jew is right for once! Allah made this very clear 600 years after Jesus and Paul were alive!"

Pagan:"No, the gods do not forbid eating pork. In fact, we have to throw the bones of our slaughtered livestock into the communal bonfire to scare the demons away!"

Hindu:"Not true, the Dharmic law forbids eating any meat, including pork. Eating pork will only anger the gods."

    Misrepresented.

Jewish person: "YHWH strictly forbids the consumption of pork by Jewish people. He allows all non-Jewish people to consume pork."

Christian person: "YHWH strictly forbids the consumption of pork by Jewish people. He allows all non-Jewish people to consume pork."

Muslim person: "Allah strictly forbids the consumption of pork by his followers. None of his followers - Jewish, Christian or Muslim - are allowed to do so."

Pagan person: "Most of the gods are cool with it, but some of the gods don't allow their followers to eat pork. Heck: some of the gods don't allow their followers to eat ANY meat!"

Hindu person: "Cows are sacred and are not to be killed for any reason. A devout person - out of respect for the souls that live in animals - will abstain from eating other animal flesh as well, but it is not required."

I suspect that someone who ate pork did not cook it well enough. This resulted in assuming they were sick because God didn't like them eating pigs.

Yes, Peter had a vision of ''unclean" foods and was told it was okay to eat them.

This changed the dietary laws for Jews who had turned Christian.

The gentiles were only told not to eat meats sacrificed to idols.

Pagans probably cooked their food properly and had no reason to stop eating meat. The bones were a good way to dispose of waste.

Hindus know that animals don't want to die anymore than we do. Most of us know on some level that we don't need to eat meat to remain healthy . I suspect this is the proper way to live.

As for rather God likes pork, pigs are smarter than horses and a lot of other animals.

It is the first meat people who are dieting are told to restrict.

It sounds like all of these people had something on the ball.

  • Thinking person: Pig DNA is not that far from human DNA (comparatively speaking), and pigs can therefore carry a lot of diseases that can be transferred to humans. In the days before meat thermometers, fan assisted ovens, microwaves and iron chefs, eating pork could be a risky business. So, if you wanted lots of fit warriors able to go beat up the tribe on the other side of the hill for believing in a different sky-fairy, best to prohibit the eating of pork.

Your point is misplaced because the dietary laws have zero to do with God liking or not liking this or that animal.

These are spiritual practices designed for spiritual purposes. Some faiths include them and some do not. So what?

That some choose not to include these particular spiritual practices does not in the least change the spiritual value for those who engage in the practice.

Faith-based diet restrictions are often based on providing reminders that we are not animals that eat whatever crawls across our paths, that we have a higher calling in life to pursue, and as part of a practice restraint over our desires. Hindu's add that eating meat, because of reincarnation concepts, symbolic of eating humans. Vegetarianism reminds them of the migrating souls and the value of life etc.

People who don't understand the purposes of dietary restrictions end up making fun of them and looking foolish. Like a fat person making fun of people who exercise.

Why bother to make fun of practices that harm no one and that provide benefit to those that do them? What do you care what they do with their diets?

I believe you. Legalistically talking in Acts 15:29 fornication is the single sexual practice that we gentiles are required to prevent. Sin is ideal failing to to what's suitable. Trespasses are getting into which you could ought to not bypass, iniquity doing what you could ought to not do, slander is announcing what you could ought to not say. All those concerns are wrong. All those concerns must be forgiven. in case you had a sinometer to check out human beings for 'sin' exterior a church no you will be able to get in to be saved or healed. Edit: The practice of homosexuality keeps to be a sin interior the context of fornication. it ought to besides the indisputable fact that harm. I believe Martin S and friends in that regard. How do I placed it? some Christians look be happier smiting human beings with OT wrath with out any regard for NT mercy. you're proper that their motives for categorization as a sin at the prompt are not mandatory.
