Which tablet computer would be good for a student?
I'm looking for a tablet that will be a good addition to my life as a university student. I’ve been looking myself but there are somany on the market, and there are loads that don't do what I'm looking for. I was wondering if anyone knew what make/model would be best for me to get bearing in mind that I am looking for it to be a decent price and for the following features:
- HSDPA enabled (basically built in 3g supporting mobile broadband)
- Bluetooth
- Wi-Fi
- compatibility with windows office/open office/quick office
- must be able to use PDF’s
- must be able to run SPSS statistics programme
- webcams (front and back)
- memory needs to be around 16 GB
- USB ports
- needs to be able to run open software
- needs to be able to support use of skype [via an app?]
- it needs to be able to support Microsoft exchange emails [via an app?]
- Dual core processor
- needs to be light weight
- most importantly, I do not want an apple iPad, as great as they are, apple is too exclusive and is out of my price range. Also, I am a student and all the computers at University run off Microsoft/windows. Exporting is too much fuss.

The truth is buying a Chinese tablet is your best bet. I researched many and found that the Cube U30GT is everything you could want in a tablet that that many USA tablets are not offering. See specs below. Resolution is better than Ipad2 and it even has a HDMI output which most tablets don't! You can hook it right up to your TV or monitor... the cost is about $225 - $275 depending on where you buy it... but be careful. Don't buy from any website that ends in -tablet.com those are fake. You can get it on Ebay for about $260 or on AliExpress for less. AliExpress is like Amazon and has multiple stores so look for the best rating and trusted ones like Shenzhin Elijah. Look on youtube to see some videos of the cube. Best tablet for the cost!
The only thing this tablet doesn't have in the built in 3G but it does have the 3G (Not built in, support external 3G dongle: E1916, ZTE AC2736, HUAWEI E1750, HUAWEI EC122, HUAWEI EM770W) which basically means you can tether it by bluetooth to your cell phone where wifi is unavailable. It also means you don't have to add it to your wireless account and pay a monthly fee.

Not too long ago, students wanted a laptop to do their homework on. Then tablets came along, and now an iPad is just as likely to be on their list of school supplies.
Laptops certainly still have a place, but tablets have found a market among people who like their very small and light designs, long battery lives, and simplicity.
