I don't know it a person has much choice if they fall in love. Reason goes out the window. Even if there is an extreme difference in ages, there is hope for happiness.
Several studies were done on May-December romances, and found that difference in ages had less effect on marriage than other things. It doesn't make sense to me, but research is research; and age difference does not have much to do with marriages.
Personally, I don't think I would want to have a relation ship with a young girl or an old lady. Five or ten years difference would usually be okay. If one of us is 30, and the other 20, it would probably be okay with me. But, I would shun any relation ship with a 16 year old girl if I were 26.
But, like I said in the beginning, one doesn't have much choice if they fall in love.

I'm in my 20's I would honestly only go 1 or 2 years younger (if even..). I'm not a fan of dating younger guys at all.
As far as older, I'm down for even 20-25 years. I've seen some men in their 50's who look great, so I really wouldn't say no if I really liked them and we had an understanding. But thats a big if. I'm far from a gold digger and I don't really like the idea of me being in my prime and them on the death bed. So its something I feel I would really have to consider before jumping in.

It depends on your age. If your fifteen a much smaller age gap would be appropriate than if you're 40.

Since I'm young (15). I'd say 2. But as you get older it can get as large as maybe 10 if they're mature enough. (Like a 30 yr old and a 40 yr old). My parents are 11 years apart... it's kinda weird tho lol.
