can i take my retainer out for school?

ive been wearing it religiously 24/7 since july 18th and school started 2 days ago. anyone else take theirs out for the short 7 hours of school and put it in when its over? anyone else with any experience or knowledge if its ok to do? im sure 7 hours of not wearing it wont matter

    I would wear them as much as possible. I have retainers too, and I also have a lisp, so the retainer makes me talk in a way that is very difficult to understand. If it's just the appearance of them, I'd keep them in no matter what, but if it's your speech, I would just take it out when I had talk. That's what I do, so they only end up being out of my mouth for a few minutes at most.

    Hellllo,

    I had braces on for 2 years and i then had a retainer for about a year.

    I was in grade 8 and I wanted to look good, so i took out my retainer for school, and put them back on when i got home.

    PROBLEM is, is that your teeth can move so quickly without you knowing. I had to get braces a second time because of it :/

    Anyways, if it is somewhat of a bother to you, go to your orthodontist and ask if you could get a clear retainer (If you don't already have one)

    If you feel insecure about your retainer, just remember that after the treatment is finished, your teeth look amazing.

    SO, just keep them on & smile :D
