Spiritually Speaking "Don't it make you want to go home...?"?

R.I.P. Joe South

Update:

@Toke: Thank you. At least one person got it. (((Toke)))

His death saddens me. Joe wrote some beautiful and relevant to the times songs. It also reminds me of my own mortality since I'm only eight years behind him in age.

I did roll one in his memory last night. ;-)

Update 2:

@Yoshiko Yasui: Thank you for your input but as Toke pointed out there are quotation marks properly placed. I'm surprised you missed them.

    OMG @ Yoshiko:

Being so up on grammar, one would think you knew that quotation marks indicated he was referencing something said by another person....LOL....

    Hiya.

I really wasn't even aware of who he was, so I found the song on Youtube, and listened. Nice. I liked it when pop artists began to use orchestral instrumentation....violins, etc. Elton John, as well, started to do the same thing.

Nice song.... and 71 is just too damn young to die.

I am home but as a courtesy, I want to make you aware of subject & verb agreement - You used a 3 person form of the verb ' to do - with the 2 nd person form of the pronoun. I am sure it was a typing error or mistake, but just for fun, take a look. When there is no subject - verb agreement, it makes the speech sound very uneducated and primitive,

like this also ''' HE DON'T ''', ugh - that is horrible and that poor person obviously can not speak correctly in our own language. It highlights lack of education. So look just in case -

    I don't ( do not )

    you don't ( do not )

    he,

    she

or it doesn't ( does not ) he doesn't , she doesn't or it doesn't (those are all correct )

Therefore the correct English here is

''DOESN'T '' it make you want to go home ?

example ( It does not make you want to) whatever, or

( Doesn't it make you want to ) whatever.

Source(s): USA public schools, college, university education, plus a life time of reading, studying and teaching our wonderful English language.
