Transporting goldfish question?
Hello.
I am a college student and on a whim I won a goldfish. Currently I have her in the small bowl they provided, but this weekend I'm going to get her a proper tank. (I've already researched how to do a "fishless cycle" with the new tank)
Now my question is for holiday break. I'm not allowed to stay in the dorms, and I'm wondering how I could send her home with my roommate for a month? My roommate lives about an hour or two away, and would be driving home.
Any advice?

how i transported my fish when i moved was go to to the pet store ask for the fish bags then what you want to do is get some sort of bucket or container so when you put the fish in the bag and tie it you dont just have a fragile bag of water that will also keep it from rollin all over the place if the fish starts freakin out in the bag just lay a towl over the top that should keep it calm

I might line it with a clean black plastic bag to make certain that any residual drinks aren't coming in much contact with the water, additionally this may help hold them calm due to the fact that the darker they're the better, although I doubt it concerns in a cooler. That all sounds just right but i would add some plants in there with them, just leave them floating so they've some variety of canopy for those who open the lid. This manner the vegetation will transfer with the water and will not fall/flop over and damage the goldies.

Go to the fish store and ask for those plastic bags for transporting. If not, just get a container but ensure that a lot of air is in it.
Put the bag/container into another black bag/cardboard box to reduce stress. YOU DO HAVE A FILTER, RIGHT?
