I have a HP Officejet J4500 All- IN- One series. That won't fax?

The machine said that the Fax send report is turned to off, How do I turn it on again? Thanks in advance. It will create copies and said that there was a power outage at some point in time. I hate to buy a new one if this is fine and I'm just limited in knowledge.

First, has your fax ever worked for you, or are you trying it for the first time?

Have you connected it with a standard telephone cord to a standard land-line telephone jack & line? Fax equipment need a physical connection to a regular land based telephone line through your local telephone provider. If you already have it connected to a telephone line, have you checked that the telephone line is still good & working properly & have you checked the telephone cable to make sure it's plugged into your printer & the wall jack correctly?

The "Fax send report" does not need to be turned On in order to fax, it is only a report that is printed out every time a fax is completed or attempted.

It is possible that a power surge occurred when you lost power & damaged the printer's fax circuit.

If you need to try an extra time, this may occasionally aid you now and then HP you'll get a glitch when using the printer software and you are going to have got to uninstall after which reinstall Add/cast off and cast off all add-ons for the printer I advocate this process for that drawback. Now do a whole smooth up with the HP level 4 driver elimination utility device (Scrubber) just click on the run tab When done, reinstall the printer software
