Where will get my 2011 property tax refund go,to my delinquent 2012 tax bill or to a creditor?

I have a creditor who has been paid what I owe them but with penalties and interest and whatever they still claim I owe the about twice what I've paid and have a lien on my tax refunds. Will my 2011 property tax refund go toward my delinquent 2012 taxes or them.

Tax department trumps all others. I doubt the tax department has a tax warrent out on your 2012 taxes yet. Usually they will put a lein on personal property owned by you and will come and take it auction it off to pay your back taxes. For property taxes they can take ownership of the home and do the same, but usually you have to be into them for around 20 grand or so for that to happen. Do yourself a favor and dont mess with the tax department pay them over all others. If there is no tax warrent then your creditor will get your return. The reason you owe your creditor almost twice the amount you figured is because of late fees, court fees, legal fees etc you have to reimburse them for any money they spent trying to get money out of you.

    Good luck.

which are you referring to an income tax refund? I am not aware ANY property taxes are refunded

a creditor cannot offset your federal income tax refund, he probably can your state if he has gone to court and the court has ordered your refund be offset(highly unlikely)
